Carpets Wolverhampton — Supply & Fitting

We supply and fit quality carpets for homes, landlords, and commercial properties across Wolverhampton and the West Midlands. Our approach is straightforward: we visit you, bring samples, take measurements, and come back to fit once you've made your choice.

Carpet suits rooms where warmth and comfort underfoot matter — bedrooms, lounges, stairs, and landings. We carry ranges from six manufacturers, so there are plenty of options across different styles, pile types, and price points.

Choosing the Right Carpet

The main differences between carpet types come down to pile construction, fibre content, and density. Getting these right for the room matters more than price alone.

Twist Pile

Twist pile is made from tightly wound yarn, which helps it spring back after foot traffic. It holds up well on stairs, landings, and hallways, and is one of the more common constructions across the ranges we supply. Cormar, for example, include twist pile across a number of their options.

Saxony

Saxony is a cut pile carpet with a smooth, even finish — softer and deeper underfoot than twist. It works well in rooms where comfort matters more than heavy wear. Bedrooms and quieter sitting rooms are the typical fit. The downside is that it picks up footprints and vacuum lines more readily than twist, so it tends to be the wrong choice for stairs or busy hallways.

Loop Pile

Loop pile carpet is made from uncut yarn loops, which gives it a firm, textural surface and solid durability. It holds its appearance well in rooms that see regular use — family living rooms and home offices are common choices. It suits people who want a practical, hardwearing carpet above everything else.

Room by Room — Which Carpet Where

Bedrooms

Softness and warmth tend to be the priority. People spend time barefoot in bedrooms, so a deeper pile — a quality Saxony or a well-made twist — usually works well. Colour and design carry more weight here because the carpet tends to be a visible feature of the room.

Stairs and Landings

These areas take the most wear. A dense, tightly twisted carpet holds its appearance better than a loose or soft pile. The underlay also matters more on stairs — getting both right is worth discussing when you're measuring up.

Hallways

Daily traffic from outdoor shoes means durability is the main consideration. A dense twist pile in a mid-tone or darker shade will hold its appearance over time better than a lighter, softer option.

Living Rooms

There's more flexibility here. A good twist pile handles family use well. If the room is quieter or more formal, Saxony is comfortable and looks clean. The choice usually comes down to how the room is actually used day to day.

Carpet Brands We Supply

We stock from six manufacturers. Each has different strengths depending on what the room needs.

Westex

British-made, known for deep pile and a luxury feel underfoot. Best suited to bedrooms and quieter rooms where softness is the priority.

Cormar

Covers twist and loop pile options at practical price points. One of the more versatile ranges we supply — suitable across most rooms including family homes.

Brintons

Woven carpets with strong pattern and colour options. Worth considering where the look and design of the carpet matters as much as the practical spec.

Brockway

Wool-rich construction with natural resilience. A solid option if a softer, more natural fibre is preferred.

Abingdon

Broad range with accessible price points. A good fit if budget is a factor but you still want decent choice across colours and styles.

Cavalier

Reliable carpets across a wide colour range. Suits rooms where getting the right shade matters but where nothing too specialised is needed.

Oxblood red carpet supplied and fitted throughout the landing and bedrooms of a Wolverhampton home
A Recent Project

Oxblood Red Carpet, Wolverhampton

This oxblood red carpet was supplied and fitted in Wolverhampton, installed throughout the landing and bedrooms of a residential property. The colour adds warmth and works well alongside the clean white walls and woodwork throughout the home.

It's a good example of how a stronger colour choice — used consistently across connected rooms — can feel deliberate rather than overpowering.

A Note on Underlay

The underlay beneath your carpet affects how it feels, how long it lasts, and how well it insulates the room. It's worth considering as part of the same decision rather than separately. We supply and fit underlay as part of every carpet installation and will always advise on the right type for your carpet and subfloor. Your Questions Answered

How long does it take from measuring to fitting?

Once you book a measurement, we'll come out, take measurements and show you samples on the spot so you can choose there and then. We'll follow up with a quote, and fitting is usually booked in within two to five days depending on how busy we are — though next-day fitting is often possible if you need it sooner.

Do you move furniture and remove the old flooring?

Yes, we remove the old flooring and can move furniture as part of the job, at an added cost depending on how much is in the room.

To help our fitters and keep costs down, we ask customers to remove TVs and other electrical items beforehand, and to empty bookcases and sideboards so they're lighter to move. Our fitters will then move them into place once the carpet is fitted.

For bedrooms, if you can remove the bed linen and mattress, and empty the wardrobes of clothes, that makes things lighter for our fitters, who can then move the wardrobes to where they're needed — with your permission.

If the bed frame itself is left in the room, we can usually work around it.

Is measuring and quoting free?

Yes. There's no charge for measuring or for the quotation — it's part of our free, no-obligation consultation.

What guarantee do you offer on fitting?

We provide a 12-month guarantee on our fitting. This is separate from the manufacturer's product warranty on the flooring itself.
